Mother Elizabeth Reber
wife #1 Barbara Bair
10 children
wife #2 Catherine Sour
4 children
George was a local farmer, the fifth son of Jehu Grubb, an early Ohio settler from Lancaster, PA., and Elizabeth Reber Grubb. He was the father of 14 children by two wives, most of whom survived to adulthood, and the ancestor of all the Grubbs interred here at St. Jacob's cemetery after 1855.
In 1895 George and Catherine hosted the Grubb/Bair reunion at their home in Lake Twp., from which a marvelous photograph, showing well over 100 attendees, many interred here, still remains. In the 1900 census he declared himself a "capitalist"!
