Mr. Akin was born on February 26, 1909 in Drew County, Ark. and passed away on August 15 in Farmerville. He was a Past Master of the Masonic Lodge in Farmerville and was a member of Salem Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife Doris and two sons.
He is survived by his two sons, Robert A. Akin of Ft. Worth, Texas; Terry J. Akin of Mountain View, Ark.; one daughter, Betty McConnell of Monticello, Ark. nine grandchildren: David Denson; Randy Bordeaux; Denise Schrader; Robert Akin Jr.; Pam Young; Sharon Harris; Debbie London; Wanda Conner; and Jeff W. Akin, numerous great-grandchldren; and two nephews.
Pallbearers were Ricky Albritton, Keith Aulds, M.G. Edwards, C.L. Nyegaard, Don Nyegaard and Pete Taylor.
Visitation were held on August 16 from 5-7 p.m. at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville.
