Serena Crayle Jones, age 58, of Sedalia, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2008, at her home. She was born on January 31, 1950, in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Wilbur C. and Eleanor E. Bowles Noland.

She grew up in the Independence area and was united in marriage on December 31, 1969, to Sammy D. Jones at Climax Springs, MO. They made their home in Climax Springs and unto this union, one son, Steven, was born. First and foremost, he was a homemaker and mother. Following the death of her husband in 1991, she worked for Independence Regional Health Center.

Serena enjoyed painting and collecting jewelry, family get-togethers and cooking.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

Surviving is one son, Steven, of Dallas, Texas, her companion, Melvin Gordon, of the home, five sisters, Sue Stevens of Sedalia, Shirley Goodwin of Branson, MO, Edie Carson, Oak Grove, MO, Saundra Willing, of Stevenson, Washington, and Donna Houchins, of Lee's Summit, MO, several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, October 25, 2008, at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw with Elder Alvin Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Cable Ridge Cemetery, near Edwards, MO. Family will receive friends from 9:30 to the funeral hour Saturday morning. Arrangements by Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw.
