Norma (Billy) Burden, 59 of Cameron, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2008, in Cameron, OK. She was born August 30, 1949, in Gilmore, OK, to Thomas and Edna (Borden) Billy. Norma was a graduate of Poteau High School class of 1967. She married Jimmie Burden on June 28, 1981. Norma retired after twenty seven years from the Hamilton Correctional Center, Hodgen, OK, then worked as a dispatcher for Leflore County 911 and was the Social and Activity Director at Pocola Nursing Home. She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church, Poteau, OK.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Norma is survived by her husband Jimmie of the home; two sons, Wayne and wife Tessa Burden of Cameron, OK and Samuel Burden of Norman, OK; a daughter Rhonda Lynn (Burden) Speaks and husband Terry of Midland, AR; four grandchildren, Lillian and Alexander Burden and Mallory and Abbie Speaks; three brothers Leroy and wife Joann Billy, Fayette and wife Nita Billy and Gerald Billy all of Poteau, OK; two sisters, Cherry Neal of Cameron, OK, Jenieve and husband Bob Dameron of Hugo, OK , as well as a host of other family members, friends and loved ones.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 30, 2008, at Fair Hill Cemetery pavilion. Bro. Leroy Billy and Norma?s Son, Wayne Burden will be officiating the service. Interment will follow service at Fair Hill Cemetery, Poteau, OK. Services under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home in Poteau, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to The Gideon?s Foundation, American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice
