Frances E. (Bickwermert) Carrico, 89, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, at the Carmel Home. She was born Oct. 31, 1922, in Daviess County to the late Joseph and Lucy Schaeffer Bickwermert. She was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church and formerly worked at Behrs Dress Shop. Frances had a love for gardening, especially her roses. She had a passion for UK basketball. She love spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was devoted to her church and the Blessed Mother. Everyone who met her loved her. She also was preceded in death by her husband, James Wallace "Wally" Carrico, in 2000; and her brothers and sisters, Joseph Bickwermert, Eugene Bickwermert Margaret Coomes and Edna Bickwermert. She is survived by two sons, James Leon Carrico Sr. and William B. (Patricia) Carrico, both of Owensboro; three grandchildren, Angie (Kevin) Cambron, Kelly (Aaron) Davis and Leon (Adrienne) Carrico Jr.; six great-grandchildren, Jordon Davis, Wesley Davis, Preston Cambron, Lucas Cambron, Nolan Carrico and Tanner Carrico; and two sisters, Marie James and Betty (Bob) Babbett, both of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Carmel Home with the Rev. Ray Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home and after 1 p.m. Sunday at the Carmel Home. Prayers will be said Saturday evening. The family requests that expression of sympathy take the form of donations to Carmel Home, 2501 Old Hartford Road, Owensboro, KY 42303. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
