Nina Violet Alt Helmick, 94, of Petersburg, W.Va., died Saturday, May 27, 2006, at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, W.Va.
Mrs. Helmick was born Feb. 19, 1912, in Smoke Hole, W.Va., and was the daughter of the late Henry H. Alt and Levina Bell Kimble Alt.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hughie A. Helmick, on Sept. 7, 1996.
Survivors include a son, Jim Helmick of Petersburg; four daughters, Dorothy VanMeter, a resident of Grant County Nursing Home in Petersburg, Kathleen VanMeter of Burlington, W.Va. and Wanda Brill and Rose Hines, both of Petersburg; 25 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was the last survivor of her immediate family.
The Rev. Joseph Eversole will conduct the funeral 11 a.m. today at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg, W.Va. Burial will be at Cherry Hill Cemetery in Upper Tract, W.Va.
Friends were received Monday at the funeral home.
