JOHN HENRY HAMANN DIES HERE SUNDAY
AMHERST, O., May 10 -- John Henry Hamann, former druggist of Amherst, died at his home on Spring street at 7:35 p.m. Sunday. Born in Louisville, Ky., Nov. 6, 1864, he located in Joppa, O., at an early age with his parents, later coming to Amherst.
He was united in marriage with Anna Catherine Nisius in 1876. In 1885 he sold his drug store and moved to Ashtabula. After several years he returned to Amherst where he spent the remainder of his life. His wife preceded him in death five years ago. Fifteen children were born to the union.
Surviving are the following children: Edward, Cleveland; William J. , Toledo; Mrs. Edward Diedrick, Mrs. M. Duchoslav, Lorain; Mrs. L. Harmon, John Jr., Charles and Mrs. Leo Grugel, Amherst; 15 grand children; 9 great grandchildren; five sisters, Miss Mary Hamann, Birmingham, Mrs. Charles Bristol, Axtel, O., Mrs. Sophia Volk, Cleveland, Mrs. Ray Thompson, Upper Sandusky, Mrs. Libbie Hoffman, Clyde.
Funeral services will be held from his late home at 121 Spring street at 2 p.m. Wednesday in charge of the O. H. Baker Co. Interment will be made in the Cleveland street cemetery.
