Jack Raymond, Oldtime Resident Dies at Home
John L. (Jack) Raymond, 70, husband of Mrs. Lula Raymond, of Schulz Trailer Park, Kissimmee Highway, Melbourne, died yesterday morning at his home.
Mr. Raymond was born on Jan. 31, 1889, in Three Rivers, Mich., and came to South Brevard from Michigan in 1904.
From 1923 until his retirement in 1947, he owned and operated Raymond's Service Garage at the corner of Washington and New Haven Avenue in Melbourne.
Mr. Raymond was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church and served for eight years with the U.S. Navy.
Friends will be received at the Brownlie Funeral Home on Saturday, April 11, at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Alex Boyer in charge. Burial will be in the Melbourne Cemetery.
Besides his wife, survivors include three sons: John L. Jr of Cocoa, William Murray and James S., both of Melbourne; three daughters: Mrs. Mildred Steele of Bradenton, Florida, Mrs. Alma Coppola of Stamford, Conn., and Mrs. Helen Howard.
