Leone Josephine (Gifford) Fredrickson, daughter of Truman and Inza M. (Merithew) Gifford. Her father, an engineer and merchant was born in Michigan in 1869. Her
mother Inza was born in 1871 in Michigan. They moved to Portland, Oregon about 1906.

October 29, 1919 Harold E. Fredrickson and Josephine L. Gifford were married at Vancouver, Washington. They were parents of a son Robert H. and a daughter Bettie Leone.

Leone Josephine Fredrickson, 91, Klamath Falls, died Sept. 20, 1993, in Klamath Falls.

She was born in Michigan to Inza Molinda and Truman Asel Gifford.

She lived in Michigan until moving with her family to Portland in 1908.

She was married Oct. 29, 1919, to Harold Edward Fredrickson in Portland when both were 17 years old.

They move to Ventura, Calif., in 1929 and to Klamath Falls in 1932, opening the T-Bone Cafe on Ninth Street between Main Street and Klamath Avenue.

They closed the business when her husband entered in the Navy in 1942.

After World War II they built a grocery store in the Pioneer Addition of Keno and operated it with their daughter and son-in-law Betty and Everett Ball. The business was later sold.

With her husband as chef and her running the dining rooms and serving as hostess, they opened Harold's County Kitchen on Riverside Drive, operating it for 18 years.

After their retirement they traveled extensively in Canada and the soutwest United States.

Her husband preceded her in death.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Donnie, Eugene; daughter and son-in-law, Bettie and Everett Ball, Klamath Falls; sisters, Ruth Ludwig, Gresham, and Evelyn Katilas, Portland; granddaughters, Cheryl Burnett, Klamath Falls, Carolyn Shellhorn, Medford, Annette Shanks, Bainbridge Island, Wash., Teena Tarrent, Eugene and Cynthia Fredrickson, Portland; 13 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
