Nathan Hignut served as a Private with the 1st Delaware Regiment, Company E during the Civil War.

He was wounded by a gun shot to right thorax loin at the battle of Reams Station on August 25th 1864 during the Siege of Petersburg.

He "Died Of Those Wounds" at City Point, Virginia during the war.
