Annie Campbell Hendry immigrated to the United States with her father, mother, and siblings when she was 12 years old in 1888. The Hendry family settled in Pennsylvania, working in the coal mining industry. Annie married in PA, gave birth to 3 of her children there, then moved to Roslyn, WA where she gave birth to her fourth child George. Annie was widowed in 1917, and suffered the loss of two of her boys in 1917 and 1918. She never remarried. She outlived all of her children, and died in Seward, Alaska where she had resided and worked for at least four decades.
