Hazel Weed Nichols was born in Allegan in 1891. She was graduated from the Western State Normal school in 1912, and taught for two years in the public schools of Bangor, Mich. On the 30th of June, 1914, she was married to Charles S. Nichols of Kalamazoo, and on Thursday, July 8, 1920, she passed on into the great beyond. For the past four years their home has been in Kalamazoo, and by her genial and friendly personality she endeared herself to many friends who sincerely mourn her sudden demise and who sympathize with the sorrowing husband and family. Surviving her are her husband Charles S. Nichols, and an infant daughter, also her mother, Mrs. Laura Johnson of Kalamazoo, and two brothers, Eugene Weed and Asa Weed of Allegan.
