MR. BECK
VALLEY -- Mr. Jesse Earl Beck, 79, of Valley died Saturday morning, Feb. 22, 2003 at George H. Lanier Memorial Hospital in Valley.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 24 at 11 a.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with the Rev. Stanley Duke officiating. Burial followed in Fairfax Cemetery.
Mr. Beck is survived by his wife, Betty Frazier Beck; three daughters, Alicia Pugh of Auburn, Ala., Kim (Randy) McQueen and Kerri Watts, both of Valley; three sons, David Earl Beck of Cusseta, Jack Beck of Newnan, Ga., and Stan Beck of Valley; his sister, Joyce Nabors of Huguley; his brother, William Beck of Valley; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Born Feb. 4, 1924 in Fairfax, Mr. Beck was a lifelong resident of the Valley area and was very active in his church, Fairview Baptist Church, where he was a former deacon. He was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific. Mr. Beck was a retired employee of WestPoint Stevens Fairfax Mill with over 40 years of service with the company. He was the son of the late Lottie Kinney Beck and Homer Beck.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Fairfax Baptist Church in his memory.
