He is also survived by two children, Taylor and Jack, both at home; his parents of Springfield; one brother, Travis (special friend, Michele Cozhair) Orr of Decatur; one sister, Aimee (husband, Eric) Smith of Moweaqua; maternal grandparents Jack and Betty Atchison of Forsyth; paternal grandparents Bill and Jemy Schnake of Decatur; one aunt, Cindy (husband, John) Chamberlain of Forsyth; one uncle, John (wife, Pam) Schnake of Decatur; and several in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
Chris was Vice President of Engineering for Concrete Operations at United Contractors Midwest in Springfield. He was a 1992 graduate of Bradley University where he was a two-year recipient of A.G.C (Associated General Contractors) Merit Scholarships.Chris attended Faith Lutheran Church in Jacksonville and enjoyed dirt biking with his son, woodworking, and time spent with his family.He was a builder of many things and known as a handyman always available to help others.Of all things, he was proudest of his family.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 7, 2006, at Faith Lutheran Church, 1385 West Walnut, in Jacksonville, with burial at Diamond Grove Cemetery in Jacksonville.Family will meet friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Williamson Funeral Home, 1405 Lincoln Avenue, in Jacksonville.Memorials are suggested to the Orr Children College Fund or the American Stroke Association.
