"They twins were born September 30 1931. I didn't know the I was going to have twins until the Thursday night before they were born on Saturday.
We were living in Delta, Utah at the time. Dr. Bird was my Doctor. It was necessary to take them by instruments as I had albumin and it was hard on the babies. They took Mae first and then Fred J. was born 6 minutes later. Fred J. was weaker and because of the albumin in my system it took them about twenty minutes or so to revive him and he started to cry.
I was in a coma for 4 days after the babies were born and didn't know anyone.
They were wondering if I would live or die.
My mother lived in Manti. She put my name on the Manti Temple prayer roll. I was 100 miles from Manti, but I knew the minute the first prayer was said and I regained conscientiousness.
Fred J. was the weakest baby and took lots of care. His body did not develop properly and he never sat up alone in his life.
Fred J. was a big tease, He sure like to chaise Mae, while he was in the walker. One Day he knocked her down 3 times and she would just stand there and stomp her feet at him and yell. They were quite a pair.
You never saw a prouder Daddy then Fred was. He went to town and bought some Birth announcements and sent them out to the family to let them know of their arrival.
We moved to Manti when they were a month old. We stayed with my mother. She and my sister Rachel help me take care of them.
Fred J. died on Saturday April 20th. He lived 19 months and 20 days. We buried him on Easter Sunday the 21 of April.
Mae grew up to womanhood and raised a family."
