Billy C. Pickering -- Mount Pleasant Billy C. Pickering, 67, of Mount Pleasant, died Sunday afternoon, Dec. 14, 2003, at East Cooper Hospital in Mount Pleasant. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, at Two Mile Baptist Church on Bonnette Road in Cope, with the Rev. Chuck Wells officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church an hour before the funeral. Mr. Pickering was born Feb. 4, 1936, in Orangeburg County. He was a son of the late George Perry Pickering and Luella Garrick Pickering. He was retired from Amoco as a pipefitter. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW. Survivors include two sons, Billy Pickering Jr. ,of Lexington, Ky., and George Perry Pickering, of Bonneau; a daughter, Lisa Telquist, of Seattle, Wash.; five grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Kathryn Denicola, of Fancy Gap, Va. Friends may call at Thompson Funeral Home in Orangeburg. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
