Benjamin Albert Augenstein is the son of Charles Wilhelm Augenstein (1854-1926) and Mary A. Dewalt (1859-1940). He was the fifth child of eight children, his siblings being: Jacob Wilhelm (1882-1955); Harry Heinrich (1884-1915); George Frederick (1886-1958); Edward Benjamin (1888-1966); Amanda Louise (1893-1967) married Jacob Gebhard; Elizabeth Margaret (1896-1982) married first Clyde Alonzo Cable, married second Charles Franklin Messner; Charles Elmer (1904-1982).

He married Sadie Baugham in 1916, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, but the marriage did not last very long.

According to his death certificate, he died in Clara Township, Potter County, Pennsylvania

AUGENSTEIN--Of Hamilton Rd., Castle Shannon, suddenly on Monday, Dec. 3, 1956, Benjamin A., son of the late Charles A. [sic: W.] and Mary Dewalt Augenstein, in his 66th year; brother of Amanda Gebhardt, Mrs. Elizabeth Mesner (sic: Messner), George F., Edward B., and Charles E. Augenstein. Friends received at the E. B. LAUGHLIN FUNERAL HOME, Castle Shannon, where services will be held Tuesday, Dec 6, at 2 p.m.

Buried Dec 6, 1956, Zion Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
