HENRY ROY LEA
Henry Roy Lea, 96 of Macon, died Monday, Mar. 10, 1997 at Loch Haven Nursing Home in Macon.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at the Carney-Armstrong Funeral Chapel in Macon. Burial will be in the Richardsdale Cemetery in Bevier.
He was born on Oct. 2, 1900 on a farm northwest of Callao, the son of William Henry and Marinda Grave (Cavender) Lea. On Sept. 28, 1940 in Shelbina, he married Hazel Cook, who preceded him in death on Oct. 16, 1985.
Survivors include 14 nieces and nephews and their spouses, along with several great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, William Ray Lea; brothers, Robert Eldon Lea and an unnamed infant; six sisters, Alberta Smith, Nora Burk, Ada Burk, Lillie Grace Lea, Lula Rathburn, and Ida Marie Lea; two nieces; one great-niece; and one great-great-niece.
Roy was a farmer in the Callao and Bloomington communities until he retired in 1986 and moved to Bevier. He was a member of the United Congregational Church in Bevier.
