AWREY, IRENE J.; age 97; died October 10. Wife of the late Donald Awrey; survived by one nephew, Howard Cowan and family of Wolverine, MI; four cousins, Irva Ousnamer and family of Ortonville, Paula Morneau and family of Commerce, MI, Bryce (Waneeta) Clack and family of East Lansing, MI, and Robert (Virginia) Clack and family of Oxford; also survived by many loving friends. Mrs. Awery retired from the U.S. Post Office in 1967 after 41 years 6 months and 15 days, with the last 8 years as postmaster. Was a member of the Oxford Immanuel Congregational United Church of Christ, where she served as Financial Secretary for 13 years, Associate Treasurer for 5 years. Attended the Union Circle and the United For Others Group. Funeral from Bossardet Chapel Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, 39 W. Burdick, Oxford (2 blocks West of Lapeer Rd.) Thursday 11 a.m. Interment at Ridgelawn Cemetery. Friends may visit Wednesday 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Memorials to the Oxford Immanuel Congregational United Church of Christ are appreciated.
