Harry P. Nielsen, age 78, of Lake Shaokatan, MN, passed away on Oct. 12, 2007.

Funeral services for Harry P. Nielsen, age 78, of Lake Shaokatan, MN, were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday October 15, 2007, at Christ Lutheran Church in Hendricks.

Pastor Duane Baun officiated.

Active casketbearers were Harry's grnandsons. Honorary casketbearers were Harry's grand-daughters

Music was provided by Julie Hogie, organist.

Harry died Friday October 12, 2007. Burial was at the Diamond Lake Cemetery in rural Lake Benton Minn.

Harry Peter Nielsen was born July 17, 1929 in Shaokatan Township, the son of Peter and Marie (Andersen) Nielsen. he attended country school in Shaokatan Township, and then went on to attend Ag College in Morris, MN. Here he met Gladys Seldeen. They were married on September 4, 1949. From this union three children were born. Harry farmed for many years in Lincoln County. On June 3, 1968, he was united in marriage to Esther Huffman. Throughout the years Harry was on the Township Board and the Elevator Board. In 1989 when Harry retired, he sold the farm and moved to a new home on Lake Shaokatan. He enjoyed making clocks, and spending time at his lake home. He loved watching baseball and football and playing these sports in his younger years. Harry also liked fishing and traveling, and had a passion for playing golf. He wintered for nearly 30 years in Texas.

He is survived by his children, Betty (Robbie) Johnson of Lake Benton, David (Jeanne) Nielsen of Aurora, SD, and Dean (Layne) Nielsen of Lake Benton; step-children, Patty Buskerud of Rapid City, SD. and Gary Huffman of Hot Springs, SD; 13 grandchildren; brother Carl (Marcella) Nielsen; sister, Caroline (Art) Shook; special friend, Carol Sconzert of Wisconsin; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Gladys; sencond wife Esther; third wife, Sylvia; and 3 brothers
