Paul W. Barkhimer, 75, of 25th Street, died at 1:40 p.m. Thursday at the Hollywood Medical Center Hospice in Hollywood, Fla. Barkhimer retired in 1977 as a supervisor with Cummins Engine Co. He worked at Cummins for 42½ years. He was a member of Sandy Hook United Methodist Church; an associate member of First Christian Church at Hollywood, Fla., where he served as a deacon and elder; and a member of St. John's Masonic Lodge and Indianapolis Valley of Scottish Rite. He had been active in his early years with the Boy Scouts and Demolay and was a past member of Exchange Club.
Funeral will be conducted by Myers Funeral Service at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Reed and Jewell Chapel, with the Rev. Ellis P. Hukill Jr. officiating. Calling will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, where a Masonic memorial service will begin at 6 p.m. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice of charities.
Born March 13, 1913, in Columbus, Barkhimer was the son of John W. and Ada A. Sprague Barkhimer. He married Doneta M. Brown on June 25, 1932, at Bedford, Ky. She survives.
Also surviving are a son, John W. Barkhimer and grandchildren, Craig E. and Amy E. Barkhimer, all of Columbus; and a brother, Lynn Barkhimer of Columbus.
