MINNIE ETHEL COTTRELL
Minnie Ethel Haines, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Haines, was born in Lucas county, Iowa, August 3, 1873, the last of the family of 11 children, and passed away Dec. 29, 1951, at the Baker Nursing Home where she had been a patient for five years, at the age of 78 years, four months and 26 days.
On July 4, 1892 she was united in marriage to Andrew Vinton Cottrell, who passed away in 1942. To this union six children were born. One daughter, Mrs. Dora Belle Hickman of Russell; five sons, Dewey of Cromwell; Carl of Russell; Herman of Chariton; Lawrence of Des Moines. One son, Clarence, died in infancy.
Fifteen grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, and other relatives and friends also mourn her death.
Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Monday, Dec. 31, conducted by the Rev. A. E. Beals of Russell at the Beardsley funeral home. Burial was made in the Chariton cemetery.
Six grandsons were the pall bearers.
