Alpha E. Brown, 91, of Bloomington, died at Garden Villa Nursing Center Tuesday evening.
Born June 29, 1917 in Spencer, Indiana she was the daughter of Otis T. and Mary Etta (Tipton) Wood.
She was retired from Indiana University Halls of Residence and was a member of First Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by one son, Arthur Ray Brown of Bloomington; one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Palmer of Willow Springs; one brother, Thomas Wood of Bloomington; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur H. Brown in 1976; both parents; five sisters and four brothers.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, October 20, 2008 at the Day Funeral Home with Pastor David Wigington officiating. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
