Nora Katherine Michelsen Wilmot Davenport, 93, Wilton, North Dakota, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 1981, at her home.

She was born June 17, 1888, in Early, Iowa, the daughter of Claus and Maggrethe (Schneider) Michelsen. She came to North Dakota with her parents in 1901 to a homestead north of Regan, where she spent her life. She married Charles Wilmot on March 10, 1910, in Regan. Nora and Charles had two daughters, Charlotte Marie Strand (Barney), and Ruth AlLena Johnson (Alf). Charles Wilmot passed away in 1919, and Nora later married Charles "Harry" Davenport on November 12, 1925, in Bismarck. They farmed north of Regan until Harry's death in 1960, when Nora moved in to Wilton.

-----

She was known as Grandma Port to her grandchildren and great-grand children. She had a shelf full of Little Golden books, which her great-grand children loved to read during visits. Grandma Port was very kind and loving. She canned her own vegetables up until a year before she passed away. She is missed.

Nora shares a headstone with her first husband, Charles "Charley" Bunnell Wilmot.
