Athens, AL - Ellen Elizabeth Sims, 83, West Hobbs Street, died Sunday at her home.
The funeral was to be today at 11 a.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with Dr. Steve Screws and Dr. Curtis Coleman officiating. Burial was in the Athens City Cemetery.
Mrs. Sims and her her late husband, Fulton Sims, owned and operated Sims Grocery on Coleman Hill for 27 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Tosh of Athens, one son, Newton Sims of Grant and five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
