HERMISTON - Arnold "Jerry" Bell, 85, a longtime resident of Hermiston, who also served in the Army Air Force, died at his home on Monday, Jan. 22, 2007. Disposition was by private cremation.
Mr. Bell was born on July 11, 1921, in West Bend, Iowa, and attended high school in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was hurt in a plane crash while serving in the Army Air Force.
He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Hermiston Elks Lodge No. 1845. He retired from the Umatilla Army Depot after many years of service.
Mr. Bell is survived by his wife, Flora, of Hermiston; son, Ronald, of Idaho; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Hazel; a brother; and his sister, Belva.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Meadow Wood Speech Camp.
