Sidney Richard Tregaskis Jr., age 87, passed away on October 11, 2008 at the Utah State Veteran's Nursing Home.
He was born May 22, 1921 in Bingham Canyon, Utah to Sidney Richard and Anna Bohe Tregaskis Sr. Sid married Dorothy Whiteley on December 29, 1943. Sid graduated from Bingham Canyon High School in 1939, where he was honored as an All-State Football player for two years. He attended Utah State University for two years, the University of Utah for one year, and graduated from ATTC Yale University as an Aircraft Engineer. Sid entered the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1942 and became an aircraft mechanic working as a crew chief on fighter aircraft. He was discharged in 1946 with the rank of Captain. For many years he worked as Body Shop Manager for Don Richards & Middle-kauff Lincoln Mercury. Sid was an avid golfer, reader, and loved to camp.
Survivors: wife, Dorothy W. Tregaskis, Salt Lake City; daughter, Kim Coombs (Cody), Crestwood, Kentucky; granddaughter, Melissa Coombs, Lexington, Kentucky; grandson, Ryan Coombs, Crestwood, Kentucky; nephew, Art Mullett, Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by sisters, Helen Tregaskis Mullett, Olive Tregaskis, Irene Tregaskis; niece, Kathy Mullett Khoury; nephew, Richard "Dick" Mullett.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street, where friends may call for a viewing on Friday from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday one hour prior to services.
Interment: Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
