He was born May 7, 1923 in Tahlequah to Thomas and Bessie (Bagley) Hendricks Jr.
He served his country honorably in the US Marine Corps. Reaching the rank of Corporal.
He married Nellie Mae (Bias) April 20, 1947 in Yuma, Arizona.
Starr enjoyed quail, pheasant and deer hunting.
In addition to his parents and wife of 59 years, Starr was preceded in death by his infant son William Starr Hendricks Jr.; siblings: Robert Roy, Clara Emma, Viola "Ola", Thelma Goldie "Short", Wirt Fields, Maudie Lee, Jefferson Monroe, Hazel Mildred, Wallace "Ross", Tommie Pauline and Jack Coolidge.
He is survived by his children: Kathy Starlene of Tulsa and David Ray and wife, Aurora, of Oxnard, California; grandchildren: Rhonda Mae of Prague, Timothy Starr of Tulsa, Christopher Ray, William Starr II, both of Oxnard; great-grandchildren: Tiana, Timothy and Trey, all of Prague.
Funeral service was July 21 at Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel in Tulsa.
