MINEOLA - Services for John Clinton (JC) Cowart, 95, Mineola, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Beaty Funeral Home, Mineola.

Burial will be in Mineola City Cemetery.

Mr. Cowart died Oct. 15, 2008.

He was born Aug. 29, 1913, in Mineola to James Berry and Mary (Annie) Emiline Indiana Amos Cowart. He retired from the Air Force in 1964, having served during World War II and the Korean War. He then served as a security guard for Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant in Grand Island, Neb., from 1967 until 1979 when he again retired. He returned to Mineola in 1987. He was preceded in death by his wife of 9 years, Ila Mae Johnson Cowart on Sept. 8, 1967.

Survivors include his son, John L. Cowart, Austin; one nephew; two nieces; and other relatives.

Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
