Pvt. Walter B. Jeffries, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jeffries, San Antonio, enlisted July 22, 1918, joining the Infantry, and training at Camp Travis. Overseas in Sept., 1918, and had but just landed when taken sick, from the effects of which he died Oct. 14th. His body was brought back to San Antonio, where it rests in the National Cemetery. He gave his young life that we might be safe and free.
