He was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico on December 23, 1956. He was the son of Tony P. Ortega and Estella R. Jimenez Ortega.
Survived by his wife, Maria Ortega. Former wife, Leticia Ortega and children, Elisa, Yolanda, Joshua, Jose and spouses, six grandsons and two granddaughters. He leaves behind his brothers, David, Martin, Zorro, Tony, Carlos, Diego and Robert. Sisters, Joanne, Elma, Angela, Anna, Brenda and Prissila and their spouses. Preceded in death by his mother, brother, Beltran L. Ortega and nephew Joseph A. Miera.
Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at 12 noon at the Salt Lake Central Stake Center located at 951 East 100 South.
Interment will be at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, where he will be joined with his Mother.
