Thomas married Mary "Polly" Rieff 25 Nov 1834, A.S. Winford, Bondsman, dau. of John Rieff and Hannah Ross. Both Polly and her parents are buried near him in Rieff Chapel cemetery.
Thomas and Polly Brinson had the following children: John Martin, Susan, Martha Ann, Elizabeth, James, Margaret Clementine and Jesse C. Brinson.
Polly died in 1853 and on 8 May 1854 Thomas married Elizabeth (Phelan) Pruitt, widow of Miles Pruitt. Children from this marriage were: T.W. "Billy" Brinson, Tommy Brinson, Mary S. Brinson, Sarah Emma Brinson and T. or B.A. Brinson.
