Gale Krog
Mass of Christian Burial was held for Gale Krog at 10:30 AM Tuesday, June 21 at the holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Marshall.
Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery. Visitation held from 4 to 9 PM with a 4 PM rosary and a 7:30 PM scripture prayer service Monday at the Hamilton Funeral Home. Visitation continued at the funeral home until 10:00 AM Tuesday.
Gale Krog was born to Harold and Lorraine (Peters) Krog on March 8, 1941 in Hendricks, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at the Diamond Lake Lutheran Church and graduated from Lake Benton High School. Gale was employed by Don Bartz Excavating in Ivanhoe until the fall of 1979. He then went to work for Schwans Sales Enterprises where he truly enjoyed his responsibilities with a smile and a wave.
On February 29, 1980, Gale was united in marriage to Jeannie (Landuyt-Maeyaert) at the South-west State University Catholic Chapel.
Gale passed away at the Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall on Friday June 17, 2005. He had reached the age of 64 years, three months and nine days.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannie Maeyaert of Marshall; six children: Cindy Krog of Marshall, Lori (Earl) Skaar of Minneota, Chad (Brenda) Krog of Marshall, Dean (Connie) Maeyaert of Gary SD, Diane (Paul) Buesing of Marshall and Dori (Denny) Vandendriessche of Sanford, Fl; 13 grandchildren: Codi Skaar, Leah Skaar, Elen Skaar, Troy Skaar, Kahia Krog, Kendra Krog, Karisa Krog, Amber Maeyaert, Ashley Maeyaert, Heather Buessing, Wes Buessing, Jake Vandendriessche, and Jesse Vandendriessche; his mother Lorraine Krog of Lake Benton; brother Clyde (Barbara) Krog of Lake Benton; two sisters; Coralee Rochel of Lake Benton and Kim (Jim) Biersdorf of Minneapolis, and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold and brother-in-law David Rochel.
Gale enjoyed spending time at his lake home on Lake Cochran with family and friends. His favorite pastime including boating, pulling the kids skiing and tubing. He also enjoyed helping his children with outdoor landscaping, vacations to Florida to visit his daughter, and playing with his grandchildren. He was best known for his smile and wave.
Gale was a member of the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church at the time of his death.
