Earl Wayne Williams, Sr., a retired Army Master sergeant of Rockport, TX died February 20, 1991 at San Antonio, TX. He was 62. He was born June 8, 1928 in Marshall County, AL to James H. and *Wella Mae Boen Williams. He married Elizabeth Nadine Spurgeon of Knoxville, TN who died May 23, 1975. He 1ater married Ina Cooper, a resident of Bollinger County, MO.
MSgt. Retired Williams enlisted in the Army in 1945 at the age of 17 and served in World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War as an Administrative Specialist, Military Policeman and Senior Enlisted Instructor. He was a highly decorated soldier who received many military honors.
He had also served as a deacon at Choto Presbyterian Church in Concord, TN.
He is survived by his wife Ina Cooper Williams; one daughter, Helen Elizabeth Brown of Butte, MT; one son, Earl Wayne Williams, Jr. of Bonneville, MO; a stepdaughter, Virginia Walser of St Louis; a stepson Dale Hahs of Minneapolis, MN; three grandchildren, four step-grandchildren; a brother, *James Wiliams of Sturgeon, MT and nieces and nephews.
A step-grandchild, Kevin Walser preceded him in death.
Graveside services with military honors were February 22, 1991 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.

Earl served in Occupied Japan, Japan and several tours in Korea.
20 Mar 2015: The Republic of Korea issued Earl the Ambassador for Peace Medal for his service in preserving the Korean people's freedom and democracy and helping then reestablish their Free Nation.
