Anthony Bell's will filed in Baltimore Co. in the State of Maryland, beloved husband of Margaret, bequeaths to two sons, James Bell and George Bell the farm in Kent Co., MD known as the Forest Farm purchased from Richard Wynn and Charles H. Baker, Trustees and the 40 acre tract adjoining purchased from George W. Hatcherson, both said tracts now one farm known as BELL ROSE (on 21 Jun 2005 drove down Bell Rose Lane which is located about 3 miles from St. Paul's Episcopal Church where the Bells are buried). Bequeath to son John the mortgage I hold on the Ringgold Farm adjoining town of Chestertown in Kent Co. owned by his wife and all interest thereon now in arrears or may be at the time of my death. To son John the mortgage from Thomas J. Shallcross and wife for $1,350 tract near Carville's Station in Queen Anne's Co., MD and other mortgage from Samuel C. Cacy and Harry Cacy for $2,000 tract near Church Hill in Queen Anne's Co., MD. To son Anthony Bell, Jr. farm in Kent Co., MD on Worton Creek called the Great Oak Manor Farm now Lanfield. To three daughters, Isabel, Anne, and Hannah each $10,000 and household furniture and chattel to be equally divided. To 4 grandchildren: Margaret Bell and William A. Bell, children of son John; George Alison W. Bell, child of James Bell; and Anthony V. Bell, child of son Anthony Jr. $5,000 each when they reach age 21 years. Funds from the unsettled estate of late cousin Alison to be divided among 7 children. Sons James and George and daughter Hannah are to be joint executors. Signed in Baltimore City on 29 Jul 1885. Witnesses to late Anthony Bell, Sr. of said city (died in Baltimore 14 Jul 1885; living with daughters there in 1880 census) deceased: Stephen C. Roberts, James A. Pearce, and T. Waters Russell. Registered by Robert T. Banks, Register of Wills for Baltimore City.
