Ruth Rosman, 71, of Strum died Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, at her home with her family at her side.
She was born on June 10, 1937, in the town of Dover, Buffalo County, to Emil and Esther (Kolstad) Ness. Ruth graduated from Mondovi High School. She married Jerome Rosman on Sept. 24, 1955, in Mondovi.
Ruth and Jerome farmed in the Town on Albion. She was also employed by Buffalo Memorial Hospital as an aide, Midelfort Clinic in the pediatric department and Sears, retiring in June of 2008.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Strum and its ladies organizations and of the Hamlin Homemakers.
She is survived by six children, Dawn Crandall of Weston, Wis., Michael (Nancy) Rosman of Forest Lake, Minn., LaVerne (Denise) Rosman of Hartland, Wis., David (Kayleen) Rosman of Fairchild, Wis., Linda (Timothy) Braun of Elkhorn, Wis., and Mark (Amy) Rosman of Osseo, Wis.; thirteen grandchildren, Joshua and Joseph Crandall, Adam and Paul Rosman, Amanda and Kayla Rosman, Aaron, Savanna and Chad Rosman, Danielle and Nicholas Braun and Madyson and Zachary Rosman; two step grandchildren, Jacob and Jenna Slaughter; one great-grandchild, Caden Rosman; two brothers, Lyle (Pat) Ness of Mondovi and Allen (Rosalie) Ness of Oregon, Wis.; and other relatives.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerome; a son-in-law, Jonathan Crandall; her parents, Emil and Esther Ness; and father and mother-in-law, Vern and Susie Rosman.
Ruth loved gardening, birds, animals, living in the country, and enjoying God's creations. She enjoyed getting together with family and friends. Everyone knew her door was always open. All her grandchildren held a special spot in her heart.
Services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Strum, with Rev. Christine Emerson officiating. Burial will be at Hamlin Cemetery in the Town of Albion, rural Strum.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 13, at Kjentvet-Smith Funeral Home in Eleva, and one hour before services on Tuesday at church.
