Teresa Boylan, 82, was language teacher
WILBRAHAM--Teresa C. Boylan, 82, of 3233 Boston Rd., a retired foreign languages teacher at the former Classical High School in Springfield, died Saturday in Baystate Medical Center, Springfield
She retired several years ago and previously taught in the Palmer public school system for many years
Born in Springfield (sic), she attended local schools. She graduated from Trinity College and received her master's degree in foreign language studies from Harvard University. She also studied Spanish at universities in Mexico and in Spain.
Boylan was charter member and past regent of the Daughters of Isabella, Palmer Circle 408 and past state regent, state chancellor and member of the Daughters of Isabella State Guard. She also was treasurer of the DOI State Regents Association.
She was a communicant of St. Cecilia's Church and member of its women's club, Altar Society and Stewardship Team. She also was a lectern at the church.
She edited the newsletter of the Massachusetts Retired Teachers Association and was a member of the Springfield College Club and the Trinity College Alumni Association.
She leaves several cousins.
The funeral will be Wednesday morning at Roberge Funeral Home, Palmer and in the church with burial in St. Thomas's Cemetery, Palmer.
