A native of Warren County, the son of the late LONNIE J. LOYD. He was of the Christian faith and was retired from the N.C. Department of Corrections.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Eakes Funeral Chapel in Oxford by Rev. Milton Abbott & the Rev. James Briley. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Joyce L. Granger of Henderson; a son, Spencer Eugene LOYD of Oxford; mother, Mrs. Mattie Pendergrass LOYD of Oxford; three brothers, Herman LOYD of Leasburg, Ivey LOYD of Henderson, Paul LOYD of Oxford; two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Vaughan of Oxford, Mrs. Maxine Hardy of Henderson; a special friend, Margaret Weeks of Oxford; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford and at other times at the home of Spencer Eugene and Bonnie LOYD, 510 Providence Rd., Oxford, NC.
