Raymond Henry Begin was my mother's younger brother out of nine children from Honore and Zella (Campean) Begin. My mother, Mary Reina (Begin) Buckmore was the oldest child.

He was brought up in the state of Maine before migrating to New York and then the state of Massachusetts where he spent the last 40-45 years of his life.

He moved in with his brother Leo Begin, from New York, in the middle 1960's in Russell, Massachusetts, working, at first, for the local electrical utility company and then for at least the next 30 years at the Westfield River Paper Company, also in Russell. He did routine maintenance and janitorial work for them.

After a few years in the early 1970's he purchased a small 1/2 acre lot with a mobile home in Huntington on the Old Chester Road and lived there for the rest of his life.

He died of heart failure in his home on August 2001 while sitting at the kitchen table.

As a man he was warm and gentle.
