Mrs Ruth Gertrude Hackbarth, 69, of Main Street, Chicora, died at the Chicora Medical Center this morning, after an illness. Born May 30 1899, she was the daughter of John B. and Rosella Goodgasell Sherwin. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Chicora, the Women's Circle of the church, the Lady Whitney Rebekah Lodge 209, the Auxiliary to the Dirkin-Ritzert American Legion Post, the Women of the Moose 313, the Ladies Auxiliary to the Fire Department, and the Golden Age Club, all of Chicora. Surviving are her husband, William F. Hackbarth; seven sons, James W. of Lakeside, Calif., Robert V of Parker RD 3, Thomas E. of Karns City RD 1, Alvin D. of Chicora, Norman F. of Karns City RD 2, Eugene M. of Chicora, and William H. J. of Duluth, Minn; 18 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs Annie Myers of Butler. HACKBARTH - Friends of Mrs Ruth Gertrude Hackbarth who died Friday, Aug 23, 1968, will be received at the Vensel Funeral Home, Chicora, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Saturday and Sunday. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Monday from the funeral home, with the Rev. Theodore Schultz, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Chicora, officiating. Burial will be in White Oak Cemetery, Chicora RD 1.
