Joseph Roman's mother was Eliza Haines who married Absalom Roman in Maryland. Eliza was a cousin of mine in my Haines tree. Eliza died in Maryland in 1842 and Absalom Roman died there in 1872. Nobody knows as yet where they were buried but it is in Cecil County, MD somewhere. Eliza's father was Eli Haines who died in MD in 1816. Eli's father was Job Haines who died in Cecil Co., MD in 1812. Job Haines' father was Joseph Haines who died in PA in 1763.
Joseph Haines, father was Richard Haines.
Richard Haines, was my 6th Great Grandfather. Richard left England in 1682 with his wife and 5 children to come to America to escape religious persecution in England. Richard got sick and died on the ship on the way here and then his wife gave birth to their 6th child on the ship! I am descended from Richard's 4th child, William Haines. Joseph Absalom Roman is descended from Richard Haines' 6th and last child, Joseph, that child who was born on the ship, at sea, in 1682 on the way to the U.S.
