Esther Naomi Schrader, 95, of Annapolis, Md. died Oct. 8 at Ginger Cove Retirement Center.

Mrs. Schrader was born Oct. 22, 1912, in Gahanna, Ohio to the late William and Laura Baker. At the age of ten, her family moved to Westerville, Ohio where she graduated from high school in 1930.

She attended Bliss Business College in Columbus, Ohio and worked at the Citizens Bank in Westerville, Ohio prior to her marriage to Alan Richard Schrader in 1937.

After her marriage, she and her husband lived in Mt Vernon, Ohio and in 1939 moved to Annapolis, so her husband could take a position with the David Taylor Research and Development Center.

Her interests included doing volunteer work with the Anne Arundel Medical Center and served as it's Treasurer for several years. She was a Brownie Girl Scout Leader for eight years, a life member of the Auziliary of Anne Arundel Medical Hospital, and in her younger years with the Women's Society and the Altar Guild at St. Martin's Lutheran Church as well as a member for over sixty years.

Her hobbies included crafts, sewing, and flower gardening. After her husband's retirement, they traveled to Europe and various places in the United States. Her biggest joy was being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband Alan R. Schrader and her brother Ralph R. Baker.

Survivors include two daughters, Janet L. Greentree, of Burke Virginia and Kathe K Fernandez, of Escondido, California, as well as five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Interment at Lakemont Memorial Gardens, Davidsonville.
