He was born May 22, 1962, in Noblesville. He was the son of Jack I. Copeland and Patricia L. (Weir) Copeland Hoots. His father survives in Memphis, Tenn., and his mother survives in Noblesville.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his stepmother, Lillian Copeland of Memphis; his stepfather, Kenneth Hoots of Noblesville; fiancee, Karen Gross of Noblesville; a son, James Copeland of Sheridan; a stepson, Drew Hawk of Noblesville; two stepdaughters, Shiloh Sandage and Amber Lawrence, both of Noblesville; a brother, Jay Copeland of Carmel; three sisters, Tammy Lee of Carmel and Debbie Whicker and Tonya Stern, both of Sheridan; a stepbrother, David Hoots of Westfield; two stepsisters, Dawn Herron of Noblesville and Diana Montoney of Cincinnati; four step-grandchildren, Eathan Swonford, Breana Lawrence, Brice Sandage and Calie Sandage; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were Wednesday at Kercheval Funeral Home in Sheridan. The Rev. William Bergstrom officiated. Burial was in Spencer Cemetery in Sheridan.
