Douglas Wayne Garland, 65, of Summertown, TN, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008, at Crockett Hospital in Lawrenceburg, TN. He was a member of Midway Church of Christ, a native of Lawrence Co., TN, and a Retired Farmer. He was also a lifetime member of both the NRA and North American Hunting Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Lavern Williams Garland, one son, Mike Garland and one daughter, Belinda Garland.
He is survived by his wife, Thella Mae Simbeck Garland of Summertown, TN. Two step-daughters, Jessica Lolley of Ethridge, TN and Mickey Nadeau of Chicago, IL. Three step-sons, Phil Baxter and wife, Carol of Summertown, TN, Troy Baxter and wife, Shannon of Pulaski, TN and Steven Nadeau of Loretto, TN. One brother, Tommy Garland of Leoma, TN. Two sisters, Wanda McMasters of Five Points, TN and Linda Dickinson of Rogersville, AL. Seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at Neal Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, with Frank Foust officiating. Interment will be at Mimosa Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN.
