Mrs. Nellie Bliss White, member of a pioneer Effingham family, died at 1:15 a.m. today in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Arthur Merservey, in Hanover, N.H. She was 100 years old Sept. 26.

Mrs. White, in celebrating her 100th birthday, issued a booklet which described her years here and the pioneer life of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Bliss, in this vicinity. She moved from Effingham to Hillsboro in 1912, and several years ago moved to Hanover.

Active in many local organizations, she was the last living member of the original board of directors of Austin College, which was founded here in 1891 and is now defunct.

Besides the daughter she leaves two sons, Bliss and John B. White, both of Hillsboro. Also surviving are five brothers and sisters, George and Charles Bliss, Mrs. Eliza Woody, Mrs. Alice Allen and Mrs. Cleta DeVore, all of the Effingham and Hillsboro vicinities. _________________________submitted by Rand Veerman ____
