CarolTane V. Guard-Allen, 56, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 8, 2008, at her home.

Misty as she was known to her friends, was an accomplished artist with an Honors Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts from Eastern Michigan University. A participant in the Veterans Administration Wheelchair Games, she medaled in several events, her favorite being air rifle.

Mrs. Allen is survived by her husband, William R. Allen, Jr.; daughter, Victoria Dimaiuat and husband Albert; two sons, Benjamin Link-Schreffler and Billy "BJ" Allen; mother, Florence Schneider; two sisters, Sharon Belongeaw and Dolly Titus; a brother, Richard Schneider; and grandchildren, Alexander, Anthony, Allissia, Kailet.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Sandbridge Ward with Bishop Mechling officiating. Burial will follow at the Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, VA. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel is handling the arrangements.
