Revolutionary War veteran. According to "The Amidon Family" by Frank Best in June 1777 Ephraim served as a private in Capt. Oliver Cobleigh's company, Col. Ashley's regiment, which marched for the relief of Ticonderoga. Later in the same year he served in Capt. Kimball Carlton's company in Gen. Stark's brigade.

Ephraim came to Westmoreland previous to 1777 and located upon the farm later owned by his grandson, Ephraim. He married Jane Robbins and reared 10 children--Hephzibah, Matilda, Abigail, Ebenezer, Noah, Polly, Salome, Nathaniel, Jane and Ephraim.
