Sherrill Guydelkon (Seatalth) passed away on October 8, 2008 in Everett, WA at the age of 62. She was born in Portland, OR, November 24, 1945 to Rev. B. Adam and Marjory Williams. Sherrill graduated from Marysville High School in 1964, attended Anderson Bible College, and obtained a BA in Education from Western Washington University in 1979. A genealogist and Editor of the See-Yaht-Sub newspaper for the Tulalip Tribes, Sherrill also had worked as a history teacher for the Marysville Pilchuck High School where she was the first Native American Liaison. She was an honorary member of the Piston Packin' Mamas Vintage Car Club. Sherrill enjoyed attending pow-wows and meeting Northwest Coast Native artists, collecting native dolls, baskets, jewelry, shopping, and most of all, spending time with her grandson and great-granddaughter.
Sherrill is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Ben; son, Dan Smith; daughter, Kimberly Kalliber; sister, Sandy Tracy; brothers, Terry Williams and Daryl Williams; grandson, Jamie Williams; great-granddaughter, Alysa Williams; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, B. Adam Williams and Marjory Williams, former reverends at the Tulalip Church of God ("the little red church" on the reservation).
An Interfaith Service will be held at 6 p.m., on Sunday, October 12, 2008, at the Tulalip Tribal Center, 6700 Totem Beach Rd., Tulalip. The funeral will be at 10 a.m., on Monday, October 13, at the Tulalip Tribal Center with burial to follow at Mission Beach Cemetery.
