Mr. Steele was born May 2, 1933 to Rex and Lydia (Zeigler) Steele.
He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Dale was united in marriage with Margaret Leazer in Glasgow, Iowa on Sept. 5, 1956.
Dale farmed and was employed as a machinist at American Chain and Cable. He was also employed at the McKay Envelope Company in Mount Pleasant, Iowa from which he retired. He attended the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield.
Surviving Dale is his wife of 52 years, Margaret of Fairfield; son, Don Steele and his wife, Debi; and daughter-in-law, Sandra Steele DeHart, all of Fairfield. Dale was blessed with two grandchildren, Sandra Steele and Nathan Steele; and three step-grandchildren, Mike Harmon, Kyle Harmon, and Abby Stickels; and one great-grandchild. Survivors include his sister, Arlene Lyon of Birmingham, Iowa.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; son, John Steele; two brothers, John Steele, Bob Steele; and one sister, Venus Luzadder.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 13, 2008 at the Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield with Rev. Mike Metz officiating.
