Roger L. Garver, age 74, of Clare, passed away Feb. 27, 1999, at his residence.
Roger was born on April 27, 1924, in Clare County, the son of Forest and Aletha (Allen) Garver. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Kleinhardt on August 15, 1946, in Huntington, IN.
Roger had lived in the Clare County area hie entire life, had worked for Kraft Foods in the shipping and receiving department. Roger had also attended the Clare church of the Nazerene.
Roger is survived by his wife Dorothy; two sons, Rick and Jan Garver of Clare, and Ron Garver of Baltimore, MD; two daughters, Elaine Maynard of Clare and Joleen Mayhew of Clare; two sisters, Laurene and Mal Cooper of Okemos and Mary Sheets of Ithaca; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, a uncle Bernard (Josie) Allen of Beaverton. Roger was predeceased by a daughter Susan Marie in 1974.
Services took place on March 2 at the Clare Church of the Nazerene, with Pastor Jim Young and Pastor Chuck Nelson officiating. Burial was in the Cherry Grove Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Clare County.
